Youthful? 9 Skincare Tips

There are so many things to celebrate as we age, wisdom, financial stability and more. However, fine lines, pores, and the loss of collagen are not some of them.  Here are 9 Items that you need to get on board with if you are ready to rotate the youthful clock in the other direction.

 

1. SUNSCREEN

Sunscreen is one of the bests investments you can make no matter what your age is. Not only, will it protect you from unwanted wrinkles, but it will also protect you from UVB radiation that can lead to skin cancer. According to research SPF, 15 blocks out 93% of rays while SPF 30 blocks 97%. YES, you need to reapply throughout the day.  I’ll link my favorite sunscreen below; that do not clog your pores.

2. INVEST IN EYE CREAM

Ahhhh those morning bags or circles that do NOT complement your daily outfit. I’ve had those late nights as I’m sure you can relate, the nightly eye cream is a MUST and cannot by skimped on. Don’t forget to hit the under eye as well as the bone of your upper eye when applying. BTW your pinkie is the best way to apply eye cream as shown in the image.

3. VITAMIN C FOR NIGHT  

This baby works wonders especially if you missed your SPF in your earlier days, which I in fact did! It has been shown to treat UV photodamage. It also helps brighten the skin!

4. RETINOL

Retinol A  is a great product in your 30’s for anti-aging, helps with discoloration, fine lines and helps smooth skin. 

5. EXFOLIATE

Pores happen as we age,  I’m not a fan of them, at all. I learned this trick by reading Dr. Lancer’s Younger book. Polish before you cleanse, this sounded so backwards to exfoliate first. However, it works! I exfoliate nightly to remove dirt build up, followed by my cleanser.  

6. STAY HYDRATED

Drink water! Not only will you have a natural glow you are treating your body with the care it needs. 

7. OVERSIZED SUNNIES

Clearly such beauties as Audry Hepburn, Jackie O Kennedy were on to something with their chic outfits and big sunglasses. Consider sunglasses a shield to the sun, pair that with SPF and you are in good shape. 

8. ALWAYS WASH YOUR FACE 

I’m not sure if this is true but I read it somewhere, and it stuck with me. If you miss a night of washing your face, you are adding 3 additional days to your age. EEEEKKKKK, ya no! I don’t care what kind of crazy ass night you had, wash your face and for the love of God, put on some eye cream.

9.  MAINTAIN A HEALTHY DIET

You are what you eat. Maintain a healthy balanced eating routine. As I’ve trained many clients over the years, I always refer to MACRO’S your daily intake should consist of these. GOOD proteins, carbs, and fats. Avoid processed foods; fast food is not your friend for your skin and not to mention this is how muffin tops start.
