Love a great smoothie, and for the cooler seasons, this apple cinnamon smoothie takes the cake. Not only is it packed with nutrition its low in calories and takes about 5 minutes to put together.
You know I think it’s hilarious because I’ve been in the fitness realm for so long, that women assume I love to eat vegetables and never crave anything bad. That couldn’t be further from the truth, and my girlfriend’s closest to me can attest to this!
While I dislike some vegetables and often act like an infant when I eat them, there is no denying the benefits of eating clean. The great news is there is always ways to add flavor to anything. This recipe has vegetables that are masked by cinnamon, if you LUUVVV some cinnamon, you need to be all over this shake.
What you will need:
1 Large Apple (I use Gala Apples. However any kind will do)
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Cup Spinach (Can’t Taste)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 Cup of Ice
I know this is going to sound like I’m not putting much detail into the directions, but seriously it’s that easy to put together. First, chop the apples and leave on the skin for nutrients, add all ingredients and blend for about 2 minutes. I prefer to have my smoothies a little bit liquid like, if you prefer thick smoothies add more ice. If you do NOT have a blender I highly recommend a Nutribullet, it will last you forever, and you will save a fortune skipping the local juice bar.
Who doesn’t love a beautiful presentation try adding cinnamon sticks or mint leaves!
P.S. Did I mention that cinnamon aids in weight loss? Not only does it speed up your metabolism, but also controls insulin levels. I also find that it helps with sugar cravings. Oh, and it’s only six calories! Sooooo, you pretty much need to try this shake!
